We support multiple wallets through Reown (WalletConnect):
Install Your Chosen Wallet
For MetaMask (Desktop):
- → Visit metamask.io
- → Click "Download" and install the browser extension (Chrome, Firefox, Brave, or Edge)
- → Click the extension icon and select "Create a new wallet"
- → Create a strong password
- → Write down your 12-word recovery phrase on paper (NEVER digital)
- → Confirm your recovery phrase
For Trust Wallet (Mobile):
- → Download from App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android)
- → Open the app and tap "Create a new wallet"
- → Write down your 12-word recovery phrase on paper
- → Set up a secure PIN or biometric unlock
- → You're ready to connect!
Get USDT (Tether)
Squidway tickets cost 5 USDT each. USDT is a stablecoin that maintains a 1:1 value with the US Dollar, so 5 USDT = $5 USD.
Ways to get USDT:
Option 1: Buy Directly in Your Wallet (Easiest)
- → MetaMask: Click "Buy" → Select "USDT" → Choose payment method
- → Trust Wallet: Tap "Buy" → Select "USDT" → Choose provider
- → Supports credit card, debit card, or bank transfer
- → Providers: MoonPay, Ramp, Wyre, Transak
Option 2: Transfer from an Exchange
- → Buy USDT on Coinbase, Binance, Kraken, or your preferred exchange
- → Copy your wallet address from MetaMask/Trust Wallet
- → Withdraw USDT to your wallet address
- → Make sure to select the Ethereum network (ERC-20)
Connect to Squidway
Now you're ready to connect your wallet to Squidway using Reown (WalletConnect):
Desktop (Browser Extension):
- → Go to squidway.io/play
- → Click the "Connect Wallet" button in the bottom left
- → Select your wallet from the list (e.g., MetaMask)
- → A popup will appear from your wallet extension
- → Click "Connect" to approve the connection
- → You're connected! Your wallet address will appear in the header
Mobile (WalletConnect QR):
- → Go to squidway.io/play on your phone
- → Click "Connect Wallet"
- → Select "WalletConnect"
- → A QR code will appear (if on desktop) OR automatically open your wallet app (if on mobile)
- → If QR code: Open your wallet app → Scan QR code → Approve connection
- → If auto-open: Simply approve the connection in your wallet app
Buy Your First Ticket
You're all set! Here's what happens when you buy a ticket:
- → Select your numbers or use Quick Pick
- → Click "Buy Ticket"
- → Your wallet will pop up asking you to approve the transaction
- → You'll see: Amount (5 USDT) + Gas Fee (usually $1-5)
- → Click "Confirm" in your wallet
- → Wait 10-30 seconds for blockchain confirmation
- → Your ticket is now yours - stored as an NFT!
What is a Gas Fee?
Think of gas fees like postage stamps for sending mail. Every transaction on the Ethereum blockchain requires a small fee to process. This fee goes to the network, not to Squidway. The amount varies based on how busy the network is.
Common Issues & Solutions
Issue: "Insufficient funds" error
- → Make sure you have enough USDT for the ticket (5 USDT)
- → Make sure you have ETH for gas fees (~$2-5 worth)
- → You need BOTH USDT and ETH in your wallet
Issue: Wallet won't connect
- → Try refreshing the page
- → Make sure your wallet extension is unlocked
- → Try a different browser
- → Clear your browser cache
Issue: Transaction pending for a long time
- → Network might be congested - wait 5-10 minutes
- → Check status on Etherscan.io
- → You can "speed up" the transaction in your wallet
Issue: Wrong network
- → Make sure your wallet is set to "Ethereum Mainnet"
- → Not BSC, Polygon, or Arbitrum
- → Check the network selector in your wallet
